betAur profile !

Recommended Posts

Had a go at processing a few `bmp`s I did of beta Aur the other evening and seem to be getting smoother curves and quite pleased to see the Hydrogen lines match up. I just need to adjust now for the camera response!

Cheers

Hi Mike

Took the image using a C8 @ f6.3 and DMK 21 mono camera with a 100 lines/mm Star Analyser grating screwed into the filter fitting. Then processed it through Vspec. Excellent (free) spectroscopy program and just learning how to use it myself!. The purple line is a spectrum profile of an A2V star included in the Vspec library superimposed over my profile and the orange lines show the wavelengths where Hydrogen should be. My profile has not been adjusted for my camera setup which is why it looks different to the library profile but shows Hbeta line at 4861 angstroms ok. ;-)
