Supernova SN 2011ja Remains

I spotted this when looking for info on NGC4945 and found there was a supernova in NGC4945 last year.

Here is a link to a high res shot of this galaxy back in 2005.

That's marvellous and definitely different from the 2005 image although (not knowing much about it) I would have expected the supernova remnant to be much smaller than the red area in you photo.

Yeah i wouldn't say its a remnant more the end of the explosion.
