Making the plunge..

Recommended Posts

Hiya all,

Im new to the forum but I've been into astronomy for a while, I used to have an 8" newtonian but sadly it met its end with my over excited dog and a drop :)

So im going for a new setup this time for astrophotography and I was hopeing for some advice.

I've been doing my research and I've pretty much decided on a setup however for the life of me im unsure what i need to order for the guider scope to be mounted to the imaging scope.

Heres what im looking at:

Sky-Watcher NEQ6 PRO (EQ6 PRO) SynScan

Sky-Watcher Evostar 80ED DS-PRO APO for imaging with a canon 600D

Sky-Watcher Focal Reducer / Corrector for DS-PRO

Opticstar AR80S Guidescope as a guide scope

Opticstar AG-130M COOLAIR guide ccd

I know I need to order a T-Thread for the DSLR any sugestions on make model would be awesome.

Thanks in advance.

Gary

What are you doing for a power supply Gary? My personal view is that what ever you choose, I would elect to power the mount separately with the 'toys' on another supply in case you need to unplug anything without turning the mount off.
