another idea in my series of mad astro gadgets.

I use a tripod with 2 legs extended leaving the front one unextended for binocular viewing, in a sort of a-frame or bipod configuration whilst seated. it seems steadier than a monopod and a little more versatile than a tripod as I can see zenith whilst sat down anybody else use this configuration or have I got a marketable idea here?

I do the same. I use 20x60s on a tall photographic lighting tripod and just balance it on two legs to observe sitting down. Works a treat and is quite comfortable.
