very bright spot on the moon tonight.

was just out looking at the moon , i could clearly see a small very bright spot on the bottom left to middle of the moon, anyone got any idea if this is debris left by the missions that landed there, i was thinking it was and it was just reflecting the light. any ideas.:)

Yes the tiny bright dot is Artistarchus. It's the brightest feature of the moon as seen from Earth.

I only know because I'm ticking things off the Sky At Night 55 Moore Marathon :) I completed the lunar targets tonight, and also added a moon to my list, Rhea. A short but productive session and so good to get out after all the recent cloudy evenings :)
