Bright spot on the edge of Jupiter disc. Daytime, now

Recommended Posts

There's a distinct _very_ bright spot on the margin of Jupiter disk. This is daytime we are talking about.

Did not have my laptop to hand to have a picture taken. Anyone, any thoughts?

Any Jovian moons made of silver?

PS No spiders in the OTA and no optical faults to blame ;)

have you checked stellarium at the time you saw it?

Must have been Io, but it was spectacular. It appeared much brighter than the disk of Jupiter.

Anyway, too far to dig for that silver...
