Thoughts on TAL barlow & Hyperion 10mm

I have a 10mm hyperion with FTR's giving 8, 7, & 6mm.

Given the unquie 'modular' design of the Hyperion, if I got a TAL x2 barlow would it give me 5, 4, 3.5 & 3 ? Or are the 2 incompatable?

Not sure about quality either - with the Hyp suffering edge astigmatism in my f4.7 scope would a barlow increase the ratio of the viewing field subject to that distortion? At the current mags I can nudge to keep planets centred in the sharp area, but not sure if the barlow would increase the amount of distortion.

Just thinking it seems a cheap way to get high mags on those rare days that seeing is up to it, as well as giving me 12.5mm from the 25 I have.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that a good Barlow can improve astigmatism ... may have been marketing bumf tho
