Second night out with my new Canon EOS500 D I caught a 'plane crossing the Pleiades.

f/5.6, 4 seconds, 75mm, ISO 12800 [option on the camera, hence pixellation and noise]

Yes, the first one I uploaded was a bit big at 7+ meg, it's on now.

I suppose it's a UFO as I couldn't identify the aircraft type. Twin prop is as close as I got...

I actually rushed to get the image. I'm not sure if I would have preferred the trails to go all the way over the frame [the image is uncropped] but I like it anyway. I've done a cropped version which is for the astro club newsletter front page.

That is a lucky shot. I really like it and I think its better for the trails not going all the way across because it makes you think why they don't. Have you got a link to the 7mb version please?

After 20+years of waiting I have seen two aircraft cross the moon, which is good luck.

Not having a camera set up, that's not. For one I saw it while doing the washing up.
