Finally!

The irony is that it was virtually through a branch, and leaves, on a tree in our garden. Never thought I'd see it for the first time in quite this way! I can't actually see Saturn with the naked eye due to the obstruction.

Four moons, too. Quite happy with that.

Congrats. The cassini eluded me tonight. I had to wait ages for Saturn to rise beyond the trees and then it was heading into some LP to my south. Still managed some really good views and 4 moons to the left.

Yep, I managed it too, just before midnight.

SW 127 Mak, 6mm TS planetary HR, exceptionally clear skies and nice focus. Clearly discernible Cassini Division. Looked like banding on the rings.

How much longer is it going to be up in the sky? (northern hemisphere, mid-USish). Weeks? Months? Days?

I saw the Cassini division for the first time last Friday night. Was very happy.

savantster, don't worry, Saturn will be up till around June.
