Out walking my dogs this evening I noticed the Moon and Venus in conjunction. I rushed back to get my camera.

Nice shots. I had a very similar view, with the Moon and Venus just above a tree that Jupiter was shining through. I kept getting a ghost of the moon though.

All were shot with my EF-S 55-250 zoom - the shots only made possible by IS and ISO 800 :-) It's a perfect lens for moon widefields I think.

Sorry, I didn't explain myself very well. I wasn't referring to the earthshine on the moon. I was trying to capture the earthshine but some kind of reflection was causing a second image of the moon in the same shot. Must be some kind of reflection with the lens but I've taken several shots like it before without the ghosting.

Not sure. Perhaps if I try mirror lock up?
