8in dob setting circle question

hi troops

have read other threads on this and now i want to do this so advice.

a bit of help please im going to put a setting circle on dob base now im not sure how to set dob base and north with setting circle,

dose it have to face north with dec setting at what 0 or ? this is what im having a magic moment with:o im sorry to ask this but its

Point your scope so its facing North - I use a lazer which I rest up against the spotting scope and point to Polaris so I know the scope is pointing North then make sure whatever pointing device your using with your setting circle is at zero degrees - hopefully as simple as that

If you can't find Polaris, using skeye or Google sky etc. Pick anything that you recognize ( Venus maybe) then check AZ and set ya circle to suit.
