Tonight after doing a OSC flats tutorial again ( Thanks Harry ) I have discovered Pixinsight opens my images as a flat grey image when importing .fits from either AstroART V5 or maxim? However if I save it as a RAW file its fine? :)

Hi

This is because the FITs standard is not so standard and Fabio of Astro art and Juan of Pixinsight have different Ideas on this :)

Astro Art is saving the files in a signed integer and Pixinsight does not Like this ;)

But all is not lost do the following

1) go to the format explorer

2) select the fits option

3) Go to Edit preferences

4) Check the box "signed integer stores physical data"

Now your file will load Ok :)

Kind Regards Harry

You know what, if it was 1940's you would have cracked the enigma code before tea break and your pipe tabacco had gone out.. ;)
