I've been playing with an Xbox live cam this evening with a view to potentially using it as an all-sky camera. It looks like it might have potential as at one point I had it picking up Mars and a nearby star.

A significant problem however seems to be that the image is astonishingly noisy, certainly compared to the SPC900. Is this a "feature" of the Xbox camera, or could it just be because I haven't killed the on-board LEDs yet?
