Help needed with Prime focus astrophotragphy

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I tried to use my DSLR on the moon last night through my Dob at prime focus but I found that the focusser couldn't go in far enough. Is there anything I can do to rectify this?

Cheers

Phil

p.s. In the end I used the camera on my mobile phone to take some shots through the eyepiece

A quick fix is to use a barlow but that does give a more

magnified image.

Other than that, it's not easy to rectify, you would have

to move the primary mirror up the tube or carefully look

at the focuser and try to see if there is any way of mounting

the camera with thinner adaptors etc...

Anyway the barlow will get you going

HTH
