Play in RA on HEQ5

There is always a small amount of play in the axis of the HEQ5 and EQ6 miunts. Its more normal for the DEC to have a bit of play. The RA is usually held solid by the weight of the scooe and its counterweights.

You can adjust it ...its normally the worm mesh tuning that needs looking at. Go to astro-baby.com and have a look at the HEQ5 strip down process, look at the page dealing with worm adjustment.

Thanks for your reply. I have found the page on your excellent web site. Just one question: To reduce play in RA do I just adjust the Worm Engagement for RA screws or the End Float adjustment or both?

Thanks again for your help:)
