Celestron Nexstar vs Skywatcher Synscan Handset

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if there's any difference between these two handsets in terms of operation? Can a Celestron Handset be used to drive the motors for an EQ5 Synscan system?

The two handsets look similar but thats it. You cannot use a Synscan handset with a Nexstar and visa versa
