Help needed mounting my guidescope

Recommended Posts

I have an st80 and a skywatcher guidescope mount which screws into the camera mounting thread on my 200p tube rings

But... No matter how I screw it on... It never ends up pointing forwards and doesn't look all that stable

Iv noticed most people attach a bar to the top of the tube rings then attach the guidescope mount to that.

Can anyone explain to me how to do this?

Thanks :p

The plate looks something like this, although this isn't exactly the same one as this one is intended for SCTs, but the principle is the same. I got it from Scopes n' Skies (local to me, so I popped in and bought it over the counter. Very helpful, but others have had issues regarding their mail order services). It just bolts onto the main guidescope rings using the same bolt that you tried to fix your guidescope to, plus another one at the other end.
