Between the clouds , the crescent Moon , had a good scoot around Monoceros. Just head to the Lhs of Orion , above Sirius .

Through a pair of 7x50 Fieldmasters shows a population of open clusters and small signs of nebulae against the background.There are some 50 clusters in the vicinity;Aquick look through a 200p Dob;

NGC2301 is stunning, plenty of stars, this is a little gem.

NGC2264 , this includes the very complex star group of 15Mon, visible through bins in the same field as the open cluster

NGC2244.Both of these are nebulous areas, just a hint in binoculars.

A binocular scan found M41 ( nice cluster below Sirius),M50,46,48,41 and 93.

I then got fed up with the clouds and headed home, careful not to fall down the garden steps. Sometimes, especially with clusters it's good just to have a go with low power bins, nice.

Clear skies, Nick.
