A good end to the evening

After a frustrating start, with passing clouds and next doors security lights , I ended the evening on a high after seeing Orion Nebula M42 & M43 for the first time. I was so excited.

It's great being a beginner, so much to learn & so much to see!

I know exactly what you mean - and the great thing is that it doesn't seem to fade. Even after a couple of years of observing, I still LOVE the Orion Nebula - I can't imagine EVER getting bored with it, and, as you say, there's so much more!

having viewed m42 about 10 or so times in my first 12 months. tonight was my best views so far. it extended further than ive ever seen from my back yard.
