ND / Moon filters for binoculars

Just wondering if anyone has done this, or which ND filters would be best to use if I were to attempt it. I'd probably have little choice but to use sellotape to fix the filters in place, but they ought to work just as well for reducing glare from the full moon.

I'm thinking that they would fit over each objective lens as they do on a camera.

Any ideas or comments?

Only (a) that the UO BA8 range has eyepieces threaded fro 1.25" filters and ( that deep red (#29) is better than ND for lunar obs.
