Eq3-2 tracking controller?

A silly question guys. Iv got a synscan eq3-2 as you know and have had difficulties with the synscan part. Most likely me can I change the controller to the basic tracking controller?

Try and find a Syntrek handcontroller (not a Supatrak)

You can always bypass the fancy stuff like alignment and goto, manually enable tracking at the required rate and just use the direction buttons to slew the mount....

Thats how I use the EQ3 Pro and HEQ-5 most of the tine...

How can you do that Peter. I can't get to grips with the fancy it just dosent work I spend more time messing than anything else

after skipping the alignment...

Differences the trak is alt/az and trek is EQ

You can skip the alignment routine by selecting no when the handset asks "begin alignment". You can then use the hand control to move the mount.

The Syntrek handset works with the Eq go to mounts and the Supatrak with the AZ auto mounts.

im guessing it automatically keeps tracking if i skip the allignment. silly question i know

obviously the way i set up would be

north

polar allignment

turn on skip

drive mount to object (or can i release clutches move and tighten back up)

The general jist of it is....

After the the date time lat long questions it will give yo the HA Polaris clock info...

Then as CV said say no to the alignment question.. then you need to go into setup tracking and select the appropriate tracking rate... the mount will then start tracking...

Use any method you like to get to the general area of the target...
