Webcam imaging help

Recommended Posts

hi all took my astromaster 130eq out last night to have a first shot at webcam imaging (spc900) pointed at the moon and focussed it fine but its way too magnified with just the webcam in the yube (can see at best 1/5 of the moon) - how do you zoom out to get a pic of the whole moon ??

sorry should have said was using sharpcap

Yes, the FOV of view you get with a webcam is related to the size of the imaging sensor and the focal length of the scope. To get more of the moon on the sensor you would need a bigger CCD or a smaller focal length.
