BST 8mm ED Eyepiece in a Skywatcher 127 mak

Recommended Posts

Can any one confirm that this at £41 would be a cost effective choice to replace the 10mm supplied eyepiece which I find pretty naff.

What would the FOV be? Can anyone say how much eyerelief I would get?

I do know of a second hand 5mm Baader Hyperion for sale at £65 but think that would be pushing my set up too far.

I can't comment on the BST EPs but I can say that I agree that the 5mm EP would probably push the 127Mak beyond it's best. I have a 6mm TS planetary HR which on rare occasions has given nice views of Saturn and Jupiter and on account of that it seldom gets used. My best views of the moon and planets at the moment come from a 16.8mm Kson ortho which gives pin sharp views on it's own but also works well with the SW 2X DELUXE Barlow. I know there are better EPs and Barlows out there but for the moment these work well for me.
