Which One?

Hey guys. Has anyone performed a side by side

comparison of the 10mm XW and the Delos

10mm? With my 8" scope i feel i have all angles

covered but having used the 12" now on a

couple of occasions i feel i need something

around the 150x mag with the bigger scope.

I've used a borrowed 10mm XW for a few weeks but not, as yet, a Delos. The 10mm XW is a superb eyepiece and delivered slightly better light transmission than the much liked Nagler 9mm Type 6 I had at the time. To my eyes the XW is the nearest thing I've used to an Ethos in terms of overall optical quality (FoV apart) and, as the Delos is designed to replicate the Ethos in all but FoV and with more eye relief, my guess is that the 10mm XW and the 10mm Delos would be very, very close in performance. The 10mm is reputed to be be "jewel in the crown" of the already excellent Pentax XW range.

Thanks John. I am drawn to the Pentax as its cheaper

and by the time i get round to buying one or the

other the TV price increase will probably have pushed

Delos toward the £300 mark. I'll keep an eye out on

the for sale boards in the mean time, although its not

often either of these come up.
