So many stars!!!!!

Just been out for a drive into the middle of the new forest. I have never seen so many stars in my life. I thought I lived in a fairly dark area, but this was so dark. The milky way was visible, Orion was so majestic, for the first time, I saw Sirius, at home it's obscured by trees.

I have decided that once or twice a months I am gonna pack up the scopes and head there and lose myself for the night.

You can see how the sky matched up on the Bortle scale. Probably around a 6 according to the Night Sky Simulator.

Congrats on your find. Got to find me a dark site soon. The new forest would be a bit of a treck though. I would love to see the Milky Way. Happy gazing once or twice a month, (jealous much).
