Proposed Changes to Street Lighting - Nottinghamshire County Council

Our village has had the lights off for a couple of months now but I am ashamed to say I have yet to observe with the street lights out as yet(00:15 till 05:30). I'm hoping to be out tomorrow night before and after the lights are off for comparison.

My parents live in a neighbouring village and some are petitioning to get the lights back on for security reasons

Has the crime rate gone up in the neighbouring village? If not, why the petition to get them switched back on?

I've not seen any statistics as yet but I assume its just the assumption rather than fact. I do agree in part though that I would not be happy walking the streets there on my own though in the pitch black.

As mentioned in the article a simple PIR would be a good compromise.
