kharga Posted January 25, 2012 Share Posted January 25, 2012 Majority back plan to turn off Derbyshire street lights!Plans to temporarily turn off about 40,000 Derbyshire street lights have been approved by 69% of people who responded to a public consultation.A total of 842 people returned a survey on plans to turn off almost half of the county's 89,000 rural street lights between midnight and 05:30.Results of the survey showed 69% of voters wanted 900 lights turned off completely.From BBC News - Majority back plan to turn off Derbyshire street lightsThanks to all who put in their 2p worth!!! Woking Posted January 25, 2012 Share Posted January 25, 2012 Although exiled darn sarf I know my fellow countymen and women like to save a few pennies on the bills;)Derbyshire County Council don't have the best rep but good on 'em if this goes ahead.The Peak area has truly magnificient skies and views, which would be even better if we can turn off the lights in Manchester too!
