1st Mars

Hi all i went out early hours of the 15th Jan to have my 1st look at mars and thought i would have a go at capturing it, as visually i couldnt make out much detail as it was just to small. I think i can just about make out the ice cap on the south pole. Hope you like, as always i would love to hear your opinions of it.

Very nicely done

Visually Mars is a challenge.

The polar cap is quite obvious but surface detail is tricky needing very steady transparent skies to see much at all.

Thanks Stuart i think i may be able to do better as time was against me, i only had an hour to set up, capture the avi and pack up before i had to leave for work. The image is a stack of only 900 frames. How many frames can i capture on mars before i get any rotation blur from the planet?

You can go for a good 6 min avi same as Saturn Ben.
