M42 ..... first try

This is my first go at M42... I am quite pleased with the end result... But what causes the rings around the image ? It made it very difficult to process

As you can see I also have my fair share of light polution...

Would dew or even frost cause the rings do you think ? Just want to know what to do

Those are gradients and vignetting caused by the optics and light pollution I think. If you search Google you will find tutorials on how to remove them, there are plenty on youtube if you prefer video tutorials.

Edit: I also imaged M42 last and I'm still learning about astrophotography my self. I follow this tutorial to remove gradients:

And followed some of this for the rest of the editing, I also watched the other videos from the first link and used some of those techniques.
