200p and eq5 advice please

ok! ive decided to purchase a standard eq5 mount for my skywatcher,and as im a fast learner i realise that buying stuff in this market always requires additional items to complete the task

sooooo i need the eq5 mount then i believe

i need a long dovetail mount

and a pair of clamps

and apparently a pair of improved bolts??not sure what for??

and a pair of remote manual cables??what do they do??

and a polar scope,

anyone help confirm what exactly do i need and or recomend

any/all of the above??

i hate it when you buy somthing then realise accessories actualy allow it to work!!!

In my experience Skywatcher mounts come with dovetail bars already.

pritc,yes on dobsonion standard mount at moment

When I had a EQ5 mount it came with two dovetail bars (short/long).A polar scope and manual guide knobs.......

You will just need to get yourself a pair of 8" scope rings:

As for the Altitude bolts,they are very soft.

Any attempt to balance the mount with scope & counter balance weight's attached,will result in bending the bolts.

Mine did,but I brought the 200P/EQ5 combo.

I was told I would need a polar scope,but it came with one.........

You need the long 33.5cm Dovetail bar for a 200P

I bought an EQ3-2 and it came with a medium one and bought an NEQ6 and it came with the long one.

I would order & get the EQ5 Mount first.

See what is supplied with it.

Then order any extra parts you need to mount your scope.

pritc, thanks for info,yeah funny that......i spoke to one supplier who told me it came with free polar scope but no dovetail...(cart before horse springs to mind )
