laser pointer

my wife "borrowed" one from work for me to put on my scope as a cheap finder but it wasn't projecting anything on the sky.Which one's would be powerful enough?

Ive got a 200mw one and it goes as far as the eye can see, even burns through bin bags! lol. Most laser pointers are 1mw unless otherwise stated. Plus its green which ours eyes can see alot more easily than red for eg.

I have a 30 mW green laser and it is fully visible in the night sky. Even when it gets cold and a lot dimmer you can still see it. I've read that 5 mW should be enough.

Hi Estwing,

Would not reccomend for use if you are anywhere near a flight path.!! You can pick up a finder for little cost in Astroboot.
