NGC 1545 - straight through the heart!

Bit of a different take on a sketch I did in October of the small open cluster NGC 1545. This is a cross-section taken through the heart of the star field, which I think helps show up the double star pairs I recorded in the cluster.

The cluster itself is around 2300 to 2600 light years away. The brighter star to the left is not a cluster member. It is HIP 20156, a main sequence star that is much closer to us at 258 light years. A couple of stars in the cluster showed a rusty yellow hue.

Sketched through my 12" at x70 magnificaton.
