Amazing what you find in the bin...

I arrived home last week to find this card had been pushed through my letterbox:

This was slightly worrying seeing as bins had been flying all over the place this week due to the wind. In the bin was this:

Not what you want blowing around the garden at 90mph! Mind you, with this amount of packaging, it might have been ok anyway:

Here it is next to my old QSI583WSG which I'm planning on parting with now. One of the reasons my 583 has not seen much use is the hassle of changing the filters, so I was originally thinking of upgrading this with the 8-position filter wheel. Turned out that the cost of the upgrade, and the improvements in the electronics and cooling in the 600 series (and the fact that I wanted to switch to a C-mounted guider) made it a better idea to sell the 583 to fund the new camera.

Excited to give it a spin, but typically there's pretty patchy cloud here so not had a chance to get outside with it yet.

just as well you did see the card! the kit could have been dumped for scrape
