Bit of a result

On a whim I bought some old bins from eBay, for the princely sum of £35. Branded as Binolux, they look like Japanese 1970s style. They are 30X70. Well, they arrived tonight and I had a quick look through them, and they are excellent:D. Perfectly collimated and surprisingly bright as well. Nice and sharp. Obviously tripod only, but as a cheapo pair to leave on the tripod in the garage for grab-and-go they're great. Really good views of Jupiter, Venus and the moon, just on a quick look through. Very happy.

Absolutely, particularly optical gear. These were so cheap, though, it was worth a punt, and it worked out very well. Had a longer view of Jupiter and moons with them, really good. Bargain.
