Does anyone know if the new water proofed versions offer any advantages over the normal ones? - other than of being water proof of course! Both types are still around to buy but wondered if nitrogen-purged was a bit a marketing ploy?

I am sure their marketing will be screaming about it if there is any other improvement.

The fact they didn't mention any could be a potential problem. Like how their S4000 plossl changed over the years. Hopefully the optics has't change.

I don't see the point of waterproof eyepiece. I have never had internal fogging on any of mine. I think the only good reason for eyepiece to be waterproof is if they get used in spotting scopes.
