CG 5 Locking problem

Hi, I wonder if anyone can suggest what the problem is with my CG5 mount. When I lock the dec and ra there is still some movement/ slack. This can be quite a problem when I am trying to slip the webcam in at high power. 9 times out of ten I nudge the image out of the field. Is this an easy problem to fix or will I have to strip the mount down and replace some parts.

Hi Graham. Is the movement due to backlash in the gears or the clutches just not tight enough? I repositioned my locking levers by taking out the screw, pulling them off and turning them anti clock before refitting. This enables you to really nip up the clutches. If it's backlash, there is a facility in the handset software to reduce the effect. You'll need to read the manual, but it will work.
