Tele Vue 27mm Panoptic

Charon

Recommended Posts

I have a 27 Pan. It's a very nice EP, but your 22mm Nagler will give the same true field of view.

With my 10" Dob -

1200/27 = 44x, 68/44 = 1.5 degrees

1200/22 = 55x, 82/55 = 1.5 degrees

Personally I'd stick with the 22 Nagler.

Regards, Ed.

I agree with Ed. The Nagler 22 will show as much sky but the higher magnification should darken the background sky a little making faint DSO's a little easier to spot.

The 22mm Type 4 Nagler is one of Tele Vue's best creations IMHO.
