Nexstar hand controller connection

Folks,

I have the CGEM with Nexstar hand controller.

The curly cable supplied is ridiculously short and I would like to extend it.

There are "comercial" extensions available, but there are far cheaper options available on ebay and the like (or I could build one myself).

Just need to know.... what is the connector on the handset?

Its like an rj45, but smaller, is it an rj11 ?
