mmmm.... please don't take this the wrong way but if you're in the UK and that is your local time then that can't possibly be Venus on the scale of that image.

I'm guessing you're maybe in the eastern States or Canada?

Yep, this was taken in South Carolina- Eastern USA. It was well dark by 9:15PM here. Venus actually got even closer as the moon set. But, I was busy with the Astronomy Club Star Party activities to take another snap.
