scope 200mm/1000mm fl konusky camera canon 1000d (with a 2X converter) prime focus set to active viewing.

this is the first time i have used this camera, so any advice would be greatfully accepted.

Also, if you have focus check I would try that when using camera if it is a DSLR. On my camera I set focus check to a botton on face, then when I zoom in on moon I focus it. Hit focus check once, re-focus, hit focus check again for max zoom, fine-tune focus.

All in all, your photos look great!

hi guys thanks for the comments and advice, yes the camera is a dslr so thanks for that advice, hi nightfisher, the a-focal method is now reserved for my 5" (127mm) scope (see avi pic). just in case of battery failure or for a quick shot (weather setting in etc)
