Celestron C8-N GT/Skywatcher Explorer 200P (HEQ5 PRO) opinions please?

Okay, with the Skywatcher mount:

what length exposures can I take with my EOS 300D camera? I mean, straight out the box, no mods or anything, how long can the mount track in comparison to the C8N-GT?

And how easy is it to align this setup? How long does it take for an idiot? :)

Can I use my Celestron Power Tank to power it?

Sorry if I asked these before here or elsewhere, it's been a while.

Pass, assuming you're talking about the HEQ5, then probably a fair bit longer.

Easy. once you've got the hang of it, 10 mins tops.

Yes.

Thanks Tony! :occasion6:

If anyone can tell me how long the HEQ5 tracks for astrophotos that'd be great. :stars:

Based on the 200mm f/5 Newt. you should be fine for up to a minimum of 90 seconds. Shorter focal length will allow you longer before you get trailing as the magnification will be less.
