Dew shield & heater?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My recent endeavours have been cut short as after about 2 hrs at 7-9 C my main lens got foggy.

Would a dew shield help?

Should I go for heaters?

It's a Mak127 - what would you get?

Are there due shields for finder scopes?

Try first light optics or modern astronomy for dew starpas and adaptors. The dew strap is terminated to a phono plug and is powered by a 12v supply. Different sizes and manufacturers of dew strap draw different amounts of current so it depends on how you power your kit now. For me a portable powerpack will last a couple of hours at the most when powering 2 small dew straps. I usually run everything off a regulated supply which is connected to an RCD and plonked in a large plastic box with a lid.
