Thanks for your good wishes. Brisbane itself is somewhat inland from the beaches, but there are some good beaches to be had not too far away. I suppose it depends on what you mean by "Good Beaches". Personally, I don't care for the sand and water so much, unless it's secluded, and not many of the beaches close by fit that description. Out in Moreton Bay, some of the islands have clean secluded beaches, but it's not a cheap trip to get to them.

In the winter we have good clear nights, but our summers are hot and wet, so not so good for star gazing. Today has been damp, cloudy and about 32 deg C. Stars?? What stars?

Having said all that, we have a good climate, and our fair share of clear skies, mainly in the winter, when the nights are longer too.

Then we have the southern Milky Way...........!!
