Iv'e now found a Televue 4078 reducer for my Vixen 102, this will reduce it from f/8.9 ratio to f/7.

Will this make it suitable as an imaging scope?

What effect if any do reducers have on the light gathering ability of a scope, it's another peice of glass afterall?
