LX90 10in v ED120 - planet shootout - winner ??

Hi All. Got some crakcing views of Jupiter last nite using some recently aquired Baader Hyperions. Very happy.

My question is that I also have a Celestron ED100.

Everytime I see an ad for a ED120 frac I begin to wonder if the extra outlay for a "120" would result in me getting better views / resolution of the planets, than my SCT.

Hopin there may be a YES/NO answer.

Any views welcome.

Assuming your SCT is properly cooled and collimated then it will deliver better planetary views than the ED120. And that's from a really enthusiastic ED120 owner !.

I agree with John, the 10" has theoretically twice the resolution.

Hi Telescope40,

I have a Lx200 10" and 127mm & 120mm fracs. Not Apos. LX beats them hands down, however in these eves of little use, then the more portable scopes get used more!!! (oh and the 120 gets stuffed in the roof box / boot for hols!)
