Solar with DSLR single shot - 6 Nov

Had a go at solar imaging with a canon 450d - 300mm tamron and 3x teleconverter (lens ia a 42mm fitting). The bottom image is a closeup of a large sunspot group.

My next try will be with a sp900nc as I created a fiitting so the webcam will fit straight onto the lens. It will interesting to see if stacking will bring out any filament details.

Great pictures Ian! I have heard that imaging the sun with a DSLR is a tough challenge so you have done a great job. Can't wait to see the images with the SP900NC.

Very nicely done

I captured a solar image yesterday using a DSLR and my ED80 with a 1.4x teleconverter to bbot image size.

Again like yours it was just a single frame from the DSLR.
