Howdy,

I would like to try some DSLR imaging with my C80ed..... I have a Canon 1000d that I intend to use with this.

I have tried a Mk1 WO reducer/flattener but there was terrible vignetting. (the WO one works OK on my ZS66)

So, what in you opinion would be the best flattener for use with the C80ed and 1000d?

You have two options Gary or maybe three. A Skywatcher ED80 0.85x reducer flattener or a Televue TRF2008...

Thanks Nadeem, I was looking at the SW one on FLO's web site. I was hoping to get one thats not a reducer, I will have a look at the TV one now.

or try a hotech flattener it's not a reducer & is suppose to work with scopes of focal ratios of f/5 to f/8.

mmmm, its a reducer as well. Its about £80 more expensive Is the TV one worth the extra?

Yeah, but the SW one is about £170, is the TV that much better?

The Hotech one is a SCA one, I would rather it was refractor specific to minimise faffing about with spacings etc.

Also you would have to buy an adaptor to fit the sw reducer into the c80ed focuser...

If its budget then i would go for sw, ive not tried the hotech as i have a trf2008
