Full Disk CaK from Saturday

Hi all,

So much going on with the sun this weekend, I thougth Id pass along this mosaic I took from Arizona with my Lunt 60mm CaK scope Saturday Morning. Its times like this we can really appreciate all that detail on the sun after such a long protracted solar minimum!

Lovely - may I ask what camera you used for imaging? I use a b/w webcam and then artificially colour in photoshop...

Sure, I use an Imageing Source DMK3U with USB. From what Ive seen, it is THE camera nearly all solar imagers are using. A few use the much more expensive Lumineras, but The cost is important too!

I used to use web cams too especially for planetary images. My vesta cam worked pretty good untill I saw a shot with a DMK. Oh man, I couldnt wait to get my wallet out to get one of these. They are like $600 each.

Fantastic CaK picture! I think CaK is my most favourite wavelength for scientific interest.
