PHD "failed error 31"??

Any ideas? I'm not sure but I may have a dodgy ST4 cable? Can't seem to find a guide star, clouds are coming in and out though.

I am getting fed up of wasting my time stood outside like an idiot!

Error 31 is driver issues I think? (A device attached to the system is not working?)

Uninstall everything, reinstall would be my first suggestion

Kh3ldar that is right - the error says a device attahed to the programme is not working. So you think take off Qhy 5 drivers and reinstall?

I am up for trying (or giving up!) anything!

Absolutely, uninstall all the QHY and ASCOM driver (if installed) and try again

I recently had this 'Error 31'with PHD/QHY5. After seeing this thread I thought would save the uninstalling/reinstalling to the daytime when I was a bit warmer and less tired. Set up indoors the other day to test and to try to sort out the error. Everything seemed ok and no error. So set up outside later in the day only to find Error 31 had returned! Only difference between later and earlier was the USB extension cable I had used. I swapped the USB extension cable, from my USB hub to the PC, to a slightly shorter one and restarted everything. Problem solved, so need need to uninstall and reinstall anything.
