Black Knight
If I understand you correctly, you probably need a T-Mount to attach to your T-ring. Like this for 1.25" eyepiece holders: First Light Optics - FLO 1.25-inch T mount camera adapter, or this for 2" eyepiece holders: First Light Optics - FLO 2-inch T mount camera adapter
Rols
Thanks for looking ini have the pair mount and ring fitted together, the trouble is when i remove the lense from the chassis of the camera the camera says no lense attached and blocks all function.how do i get around that? Black Knight
Tbh, with a Nikon, I have no idea - I'm a Canon person these days. But there must be a way to turn off all that gubbins. With my Canon, I'm sure I just set it to manual. Hopefully a Nikon guru will be along any minute now ...Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

hemihaggis
okay you need to turn the dial to m on your nikon , then turn the wheel till you find the bulb setting , if you go on to the nikon site you can download a pdf of the nikon manual for your spcific camera
Rols
Thanks hemihaggis, i got to the 'm' setting about 35 mins after i turned the computer off and got concentrating, i never did get a shot of Jupiter last night ,as i was then left unable to focus the camera. (so much to learn)what i really need to do is get this lot automated from computer at least then i will feel more comfortable, i remember having a Nikon software package that enabled me to automate the camer but the name escapes me when most required.Visuals last night were good again, checked another 2 Messier objects off my very immature list.
